I am officially 30 weeks pregnant! I can't believe it! These next ten weeks are going to go by so fast. I remembe in the beginning of my pregnancy, I couldn't wait to get to 20 weeks to find out if we were having a boy or girl. Those 20 weeks seems to take forever. Since we found out we are having a girl, 10 weeks have just flown by. I am feeling a little bit better now that the room is 99% complete. I just have to get the rocking chair from my mom and the curtains are on order. I also need to get a few small things like baskets and stuff. Other than that I'm set. If she were to make her debut right now, she'd have a cute little room with a nice place to sleep. :)
While I was writing about pregnancy stuff, I wanted to jot down some things so I wouldn't forget them later on. I've been using a calendar that I got and just putting stickers on dates, but haven't been doing a very good job keeping that up lately. Here are some important milestones that I will want to remember.
Before I knew for sure I was pregnant, I had a weird feeling. I started getting little cramps in my lower belly that was different from what I've felt before. It was really weird. I was feeling it for about a week before I finally took the pregnancy test. I remember going to the gym and using one of those machines that I had to lean my tummy on to lift my arms. I had a weird feeling and didn't feel right doing the exercise so I just stopped. A few days later I took the test. I took it when Brandon was out of town...not thinking that the results were going to be positive. Ooops. I was wrong. :) Luckily Nikki came over after that.
On february 24, I was about 8.5 weeks pregnant, we had our first ultrasound. We had one early because they were checking for twins since there is a set in my family. Thank goodness there was only one in there! That ultrasound was so amazing. Our little baby looked like a peanut, but we could hear the heartbeat so well. It was the coolest thing ever! I definitely cried. We had another ultrasound at about 12.5 weeks pregnant just to get some genetic testing done. I knew everything was going to be just fine, but it helped us ease our minds a little. The place we went to was different than the first ultrasound and had really awesome technology. At about 2.5 inches we could see sooo much of our little peanut! We both though she resembled my side of the family. We shall see when she comes out. :) I started showing really early (mostly because she was pushing out the small tummy fat that I already had) and I think I felt her really early too. I know I felt her at about 17 weeks, but before that, I wasn't 100% sure. I just kept feeling little flutters. It wasn't until 22 weeks that we could feel little tiny kicks from the outside of my tummy. On May 19, I was about 20.5 weeks along. That was when we had the ultrasound to find out the sex. Brandon and I both kept thinking it was going to be a girl. I had dreams that it was a girl. I couldn't believe we were right! I'm so excited to be having a little girl. Brandon is excited too. Although, he's hoping to get a boy for our next one. :) The 20 week ultrasound also told us that we have a healthy little one. That was really good news to hear. She was a little on the smaller side, in the 38 percentile (20-80 is healthy). I think I'd rather have a smaller baby coming out than a giant one! Since we started feeling her little kicks on the outside, she has been even more active! I can see my belly moving all the time, especially at night. She kicks hard little kicks quite often. Brandon gets shocked at how hard she can kick when he's touching my belly. Sometimes when Brandon presses his ear against my belly, he can hear her heartbeat. I think that is soo cool!
This whole pregnancy thing is just amazing to me. It's hard to see my body getting bigger, but it's also really cool at the same time. I love that we are making a little person that's going to be here so soon! I can't wait!
