Bedtime Routine
For the last two nights I've been trying a bedtime routine to get Allison down before 2:30am. I've taken lots of people's advice and am trying everything I can. So I've been feeding her, bathe her between 7 and 8, then I'll take her to her room with the lights dim and get her ready for bed. I'll feed her and sing her a song and put her down. She seems to fall asleep and then she wakes up again for about almost every half hour fussing. It gets so frustrating! Last night I had her in bed by 8:15, but then she didn't fall asleep until midnight. (Fall asleep meaning, at least two hours). The night before was the same. At least it isn't 2:30 so I'm making progress! The first night we tried this, I also put her down in her own crib. It's so much easier since Brandon had to work the next day and that way he could sleep in our bed (he's been in the guest room lately). It was the hardest thing to do! We had the monitor on though so I could still hear her. But last night she was soooo fussy and screamy, I brought her into our room again. We have a pack n play set up for her since we brought her home from the hospital. We used to stay up and watch tv while I fed her, but I've been trying to minimize the tv sounds and lights too. This has been a challenge, but I've been told to do it for a week so I'm going to try it. Wish me luck! :)
