I wanted to write down what I remember about that day so I didn't forget...not that I ever could though. :)
So that morning we woke up at 4am to leave the house by 5am. We checked into the hospital at 5:30 and I went back to change into the hospital gear. They set me up in the triage room to get my vitals checked and get us ready for surgery. At a few minutes before 7am, I walked down the halls with my IVs towards the hospital room. I was pretty nervous because any minute our baby was going to be here! When we got into the OR, they gave me a spinal block. It was the weirdest feeling ever. All of a sudden I felt warmth in my butt and then they layed me down and I had no feeling it my legs. I really didn't like that part. I remember trying to move them and couldn't. :) They put up a blue sheet with a window so Brandon could see if he wanted to. He was brave and did look. He saw her come out butt first! As soon as her head came out, she started crying. As soon as I heard that sound, I started crying. It was the most surreal moment. I couldn't believe that was the sound of our baby! Brandon was watching everything and kept saying, do you hear that? do you hear that? Then they lifted her above the curtain so I could see her. She was so beautiful even covered in birth! :) She looked like Brandon right away. He was then able to go over and help clean her off. Once she was cleaned off, they gave her to Brandon to hold so he could bring her over to me. She was still crying. :) As he was holding her, he felt warmth on his hand...she had peed through the swaddling blankets right onto his hand. :) We found out later that she also pooped right when she came out. Onto me and the doctor. I'm sure we'll get pooped and peed on many more times. Once they got done stitching me up, Brandon got to walk her to our recovery room. He said he was really scared doing that, but he did great. She made it there safe and sound.
We are both amazed at how perfect she is. She is sooo healthy too. Every test she has had so far went really well. She is starting to look more like me now too. It's crazy how much she changed since she was born. We just love her so much! I'll update more later when I get the chance.
