Allison 1 year old update

I just can't get over how fast this year has flown by. So many little changes as well as the big milestones. She is such a blessing in our lives...yes a lot of work, but well worth it. :)
At one year old she weighs in at 18.2 pounds (8%) and is 27.75 inches (10%) and her head is in the 10% too. Tiny little thing! She has taken her first steps (not fully walking yet) and says the words hi, bye bye, uh-oh, cat, and baby. She is so incredibly smart. She tries to put her socks on her feet. She feeds her baby doll a bottle. She points to her nose when I ask her where her nose is at. She waves bye, claps and blows kisses. She brushes her hair and teeth. She also understands a ton. I asked her to go get me my brush to brush my hair and she went to get it. She loves books and pretending to read. She loves Elmo too. The other day I put in the movie sharktale since I thought she'd like the songs. She found her Elmo DVD and brought it to me because she wanted to watch that instead. Wow, a girl who knows what she wants at 1! She is such a happy little girl too. I just love it! She is also our little dancing diva. Anytime she hears music she wiggles her shoulders. Her teacher calls her 'my little beyonce.' I guess we better put her in dance lessons soon!
Here she is playing the piano that we gave her for her birthday.

This is one of the few pictures I was able to get on her actual birthday. I guess she wasn't feeling very photogenic. :)

This one isn't much better.

Here she is playing on her toy pony that Auntie Nikki got her.

We have had it pretty rough this last year with all of her ear infections. She has had 4 since May. The weekend of her birthday party, we were given a different antibiotic since she had taken one already 3 times. It did not make her feel good. After the party, she threw up. She ended up throwing up all weekend. It was awful. We stopped the antibiotics early and took her back to the doctor. We were so done with the medicines that made her sick we were leaning towards ear tubes. The doctor agreed and suggested that we get her in to see an ENT asap. She thought tubes were our best option at this point. We were supposed to go to California for a wedding the following weekend and then stop over at Disneyland. The doctor said we shouldn't fly and in order to get in with the ENT we had to cancel our trip. We were bummed, but we had to take care of our little one first. The ENT definitely agreed with tubes and we were able to get them in the following week.
October 5 bright and early we woke up and drove to the hospital for the procedure. She was such a trooper. We had to wake her up at 5:45am and she was all smiles. She did great in the waiting room despite not able to eat. She was a little upset when she came out of the anesthesia, but by the time we got home she was back to her old self. I think she is happier and more talkative now. She must have been so uncomfortable for so long! Poor thing! And not to jinx myself, but I think she's a better sleeper too! The last two nights she slept 12 hours straight!! I finally got some sleep too! Anyway, I think the tubes was such a good decision we made. I'm so glad that our happy girl is even happier! She brings a huge smile to my face everyday. I love this girl to pieces!
